Smart cards are issued to users in Indeed Certificate Manager according to defined rules. Smart cards usage rules are defined in the policies that apply to the scope specified. The rules are, for example, initialization need, issue settings, user authentication parameters etc. A policy scope is an object of user directory. It can be, say, an Active Directory domain unit. With Organization structure it is possible to unite the objects of user directory under a single smart card usage policy.

Figure shows an example of the Organization structure. To add a new node, click Add and enter the new node name. To remove a node, select it and click Remove. To rename a node, double left-click it or press F2.

To add objects to a node, click Add in the right-hand part of infrastructure edit window. User directory objects are used to create an infrastructure: Active Directory containers, units and groups. Figure shows an example of infrastructure with Active Directory user group added to a node. To add an object to node, click Add and specify its name and type. To remove an object, select it and click Remove.

The policy assigned to node is displayed in the right-hand part of the window.
